Maureen Doherty is a New York based actor with a degree in Musical Theatre from Columbia College Chicago.
Originally from Richmond, Indiana, Maureen spent her childhood years performing and volunteering at Richmond Civic Theatre, both in their Main Stage productions as well as Stage One Youth Theatre. Growing up homeschooled, Maureen was able to balance her school schedule and dedicate a considerable amount of time in learning various aspects of working in the theatre. In her time spent at Richmond Civic Theatre, Maureen was given opportunities to take on leadership roles such as assistant directing/choreographing, choreographing, and teaching elementary aged theatre classes.
In addition to her time spent at RCT, Maureen took dance classes from ages 7-18, During this time, she also took on the role of assistant dance instructor for pre-k/beginner level dance classes, transitioning to lead teacher upon her high school graduation at Dance Techniques with Cheryl DeLucio. After two years at DTCD, Maureen began a job as an early childhood educator at the Indianapolis Hebrew Congregation where she worked with children ages 11 months—7 years old.
In the Spring of 2017, Maureen decided to pursue a degree in musical theatre at Columbia College Chicago,. She attended Columbia the following September and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Musical Theatre May 2021.
During the early days of the pandemic, Maureen began using TikTok as a creative outlet. She now has accumulated a small following and has connected with a community of people around the world.
